2 Chronicles 2:18 5 So the king of Israel brought together the prophets—four hundred men—and asked them, “Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?” “Go,” they answered, “for God will give it into the king’s hand.” 6 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?” 7 The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.” The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.” 13 But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what my God says As I read this story I could not help but to laugh. I laughed because I though about how the world talks about Gods people. Holy rollers, Holier than thou, bearers of bad news the list goes on and on. The king of Israel Ahab did not fear the lord. Because of this he made his own demise. The king literally hated Micaiah the prophet because no matter what went on around him he declared that he would only say what God says, nothing more nothing less. And for this act he was thrown into prison, hated and despised by the king. So what does this action teach us? No matter what obstacle we are faced with, no matter what trials and tribulations come our way, in everything we do we must look to God for an answer. When the answer is given we must go forth and preach it throughout the world. God has no respect to persons therefore a king is no better than a peasant. But those who fear the lord when they call on him shall be saved. No matter what names they call us. It’s all good. I would rather be called the worst for God’s sake than the best of the world!
