1 Kings 17:14 NIV For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'

Today I woke up with this widow heavy on my spirit. The story is of a widow who was down to her last morsel of oil and flour. Elijah the prophet told the widow to first bake him some bread then feed herself and her son what was left. The bible states there is nothing new under the sun. How then would this woman who knew this man from know where decide to trust him and give what little she had to this stranger? God is good and greatly to be praised.

So many trials, tribulations, and suffering we endure as Christan's. Mark 10:30 Jesus tells us that we will receive persecutions. We must go through and yet we endure. The life of a Christan is one where we will go through things but on the other end of our circumstance is a great God who will never see his righteous forsaken or begging bread. God brings glory to himself by stepping in on our circumstance. Like many of us this widow was ready to give up. She had her last bit of oil and flour ready to prepare it for herself and her son. The widow told Elijah in verse 17:12 I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it--and die."

What would you do if it were your last meal? would you depend on God to bring you out? These pass couple of years have been harder than any challenge I have ever faced in my life. But yet he has brought me through everytime. Even when I thought he had left me. When I was ready to give up my oil and flour never ran dry through any circumstance. God let me know you will go through the fire and come out untouched. The faith the widow had is know different in that day than this one. Whatever you are facing believe that what God has for you will never run empty or dry. Call on him, ask him to deliver you, and set you free. No matter what you are facing, or how big it is, God is bigger and greater!

Amen
